Interior Design Department Presents a Diverse Portfolio of Creative Graduation Projects

As part of the university’s efforts to strengthen applied learning outcomes and foster creativity and innovation among students, the Interior Design Department at the College of Engineering and Information Technology recently held a series of examinations of graduation projects submitted by undergraduate students as part of the requirements for completing their bachelor’s degrees.

The projects covered a diverse range of cultural, tourism, sports, healthcare, and development themes. They included “Maladh Cultural and Sports Center,” presented by Maryam Hammoud Khaled; “Qalansiyah Tourism and Recreation Resort,” presented by Raghad Fouad Abdulkarim Al-Qudsi; and “Marfa Empowerment Center,” presented by Farah Abdulrahman Al-Maamari.

The department also examined “Hayah Hospital for Pediatric Cancer,” presented by Yumna Salah Al-Nadhari; “Tourism, Commercial, and Residential Tower,” presented by Maryam Samir Al-Absi; and “Dar Al-Funun Cultural Center,” presented by Ithar Khaled. The projects reflected innovative design concepts that integrated functional, aesthetic, and human-centered considerations.

Other projects presented during the discussions included “Al-Mukalla Tourism Hotel,” presented by Marwa Mohammed Mujali; “Space Technology and Astronomy Science Complex,” presented by Ruba Fadl; “Women’s Fitness Sports Complex,” presented by Rana Khaldoun Al-Qudsi; “Mountain Tourism Resort,” presented by Aisha Fawaz Mohammed; “Aura Tourism and Recreation Resort,” presented by Raghad Abdullah Ahmed; “Life Memory” Oncology Medical Complex, presented by Bayan Abdulhakim Radman; and “Ufuq Sports Complex,” presented by Aisha Haikal Hammoud.

The projects were evaluated by a specialized academic panel comprising Dr. Abdulhaq Al-Dumaini, Eng. Abdulwahab Al-Shayaani, Eng. Bilal Fadl, Eng. Marwa Al-Sabri, Eng. Ayman Al-Qurashi, and Eng. Majed Qasim. Eng. Iram Al-Hakimi also participated in several of the project evaluation sessions.

The panel commended the students for their ability to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills to real-world challenges and develop contemporary design solutions responsive to community needs and supportive of development across various sectors. The panel also wished the graduating students continued success and distinction in their professional careers.

The examinations were attended by several university academic leaders, including Dr. Ameen Al-Haidari, Secretary-General of the University; Dr. Marwan Al-Asali; and Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Qadri. They praised the projects’ academic and artistic quality, highlighting the innovative design solutions they presented and the skills students had developed throughout their academic studies.
