Sharia and Law Students Present Comparative Research on Child Custody in Islamic Law and Civil Legislation

The Department of Sharia and Law at Al-Janad University for Science and Technology held an open defense of the first group's graduation project, titled "Child Custody in Islamic Sharia and Civil Law: A Comparative Study," in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a bachelor's degree.

The research examined one of the most significant legal and Sharia-related issues affecting family law, addressing the growing complexities of child custody cases and the increasing number of disputes brought before personal status courts. The study highlighted the importance of developing a balanced legal understanding of custody provisions in light of their direct impact on families and society.

The examination committee commended the research for its academic quality and praised the students' efforts in selecting a timely and relevant topic. The committee also highlighted the study's rigorous comparative methodology and its balanced analysis of child custody provisions in both Islamic Sharia and civil law.

The committee concluded that the project represents a valuable contribution to legal and Sharia scholarship, reflecting the department's commitment to connecting academic research with contemporary societal issues.
