The Department of Medical Laboratories at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Al-Janad University for Science and Technology, held an open defense of a bachelor's graduation research project titled "Prevalence of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus among Patients in Hospitals of Taiz City, Yemen," in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
The study investigated the prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) among patients in hospitals across Taiz City and examined the major public health challenges associated with the bacterium. The research aims to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen infection control measures and improve diagnostic and treatment practices.
The research was supervised by Dr. Ayman Al-Qudsi and examined by Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratories, who commended the significance of the study and its contribution to addressing an important healthcare issue.
At the conclusion of the defense, the examining committee approved the research after confirming that it had met all academic requirements for the bachelor's degree, while praising the researchers for the quality of their work and the scientific standard of the study.
