Medical Laboratory Research Examines Chemotherapy's Impact on Platelets

The Department of Medical Laboratories held the open defense of a bachelor's graduation research project entitled "Assessment of Platelet Count and Platelet Indices in Cancer Patients Before and After Chemotherapy at Al-Amal Center in Taiz."

The study investigated changes in platelet count and platelet indices among cancer patients before and after receiving chemotherapy, contributing to ongoing research efforts aimed at advancing scientific knowledge and supporting improvements in healthcare.

The research was supervised by Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratories, and evaluated by an academic committee comprising Dr. Mansour Al-Kholidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Ansam Al-Shammiri, a faculty member at the college. The committee commended the study for its scientific significance and research value.
