Therapeutic Nutrition Department Organizes Scientific Visit to Al-Shaibani Factories

Therapeutic Nutrition Department at the Faculty of Medical Sciences organized a scientific visit for the 4th year students to Al-Shaibani Factories in Taiz City, as part of the extracurricular scientific activities for the academic year 2023-2024.

This visit aimed to connect the theoretical aspect of the courses with the practical aspect, to enhance knowledge and consolidate information related to food and beverage production, and the manufacturing process in general.

The students visited the Natural Foods Department, the Beverage Department, and the Biscuit Department, as well as the concerned laboratories where sample testing takes place. They also familiarized themselves with quality control and assurance procedures.

Ms Zainab Al-Araifi, an assistant lecturer in the department, praised the warm reception from the factory management and staff towards the students, as well as their commitment to providing knowledge, considering it as part of the community service offered by companies and factories.

Both in-class and extracurricular scientific activities receive significant attention from the university across various academic departments, aiming to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and gain practical experience from the labor  market."
