The Department of Pharmacy at University organised a series of scientific field visits for fifth-level students as part of its practical training programme. The visits included the Yemen Drug Company, the International Pharmaceutical Industries Company, and the Drug Control Laboratory affiliated with the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances in the temporary capital, Aden.

The visits formed part of the department’s efforts to bridge theoretical instruction with practical application and to strengthen learning outcomes related to professional knowledge and applied pharmaceutical skills.

During the visits, students toured a range of technical and administrative departments within the facilities, including raw material reception, production and operations, quality control, packaging, storage, occupational health and safety, as well as research and development. The programme concluded with interactive discussion sessions that witnessed strong engagement between students and specialists at the factories and laboratory.

Dr Muath Abdulmalik, the academic supervisor, stressed the importance of such scientific visits in enriching students’ professional experience and preparing them for the labour market. He also commended the students’ high level of engagement and discipline, while expressing appreciation for the cooperation extended by the pharmaceutical companies and the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances in supporting the educational and training process.

Administrative and technical staff at the factories also praised the academic and practical competence demonstrated by Al-Janad students, expressing interest in recruiting a number of students from the cohort in the near future.
