Therapeutic Nutrition Department Opens Undergraduate Research Defences

    The Department of Therapeutic Nutrition at the university has inaugurated the open defence examination for undergraduate graduation research, marking a new phase in strengthening research engagement and linking academic study with applied practice.

    The opening session featured the defence of the first cohort’s research project, titled “The Relationship Between Diet Quality (Using a Food Frequency Questionnaire) and Mental Health (Depression and Anxiety) Among Al-Janad University Students.” The study examined the impact of dietary patterns on students’ psychological well-being, highlighting the role of balanced nutrition in supporting mental health.

    The defence was chaired by Dr Khaled Assaj and evaluated by a committee comprising Dr Mansour Al-Khalidi and Dr Ayman Al-Qadsi. The panel commended the students’ efforts and the quality of their scientific approach, offering a series of recommendations aimed at further strengthening the study and enhancing its academic contribution.
