The university’s student volleyball championship has drawn to a close, capping days of spirited competition and broad participation from students across academic disciplines. Organised by the Student Activities Department under the Deanship of Student Affairs, the tournament was held under the auspices of University President Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati.
The third-year Accounting team claimed the title with a commanding sets victory over the first-year Architecture team in the final. The match showcased a high level of play and intensity, with both sides delivering technically strong performances and demonstrating notable sportsmanship.
Imad Al-Buraihi, Director of Student Affairs, said the university is committed to fostering a dynamic campus environment through such sporting initiatives, which encourage healthy competition, support the development of student talent, and contribute to shaping well-rounded graduates.
The tournament was managed by Captain Anis Ghanem, with refereeing overseen by Captain Ibrahim Al-Oubli. Fixtures throughout the competition were marked by strong organisation and consistently competitive play.
At the closing ceremony, both teams were recognised in the presence of Dr Mohammed Al-Wahabi, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr Gamil Zaid, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, alongside several academic and administrative leaders. The champions were awarded the trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up received medals in recognition of their performance.
