Al-Janad University for Science and Technology marked World Medical Laboratory Day with a scientific programme organised by the Department of Medical Laboratories under the auspices of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, with wide participation from academic, professional and sectoral stakeholders.
The event was inaugurated by University President Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, in the presence of invited guests and representatives of relevant institutions.
In his opening remarks, Dr Mansour Al-Kholidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, underscored the critical importance of medical laboratory science in disease diagnosis and in supporting clinical care.
Dr Riyadh Al-Akhali, speaking on behalf of the professional association, addressed the role of laboratory professionals and the challenges facing the sector, emphasising the need for sustained training and continuous professional development.
The programme featured a series of scientific lectures delivered by academics, specialists, and sector representatives, focusing on recent developments in the field of medical laboratory science.
An accompanying exhibition showcased modern laboratory equipment and systems, with contributions from supporting companies, including Al-Adel Company and Top Medical.
The event was attended by a number of academic and medical leaders, including Dr Khairallah Al-Ghazali, Head of Laboratory at the Cardiac and Kidney Transplant Centre; Dr Jalal Al-Hammadi, Deputy Director of the National Public Health Laboratories; and Dr Mansour Hamed, Head of Laboratory at Al-Amal Oncology Centre, alongside heads of laboratory departments in public hospitals and a range of academics and specialists.
