Al-Janad University for Science and Technology has inaugurated a medical internship centre at its Faculty of Medical Sciences, under the auspices of Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Fahd Al-Nadhari, Director-General of the Governorate Health Office, University President Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, Secretary-General Ameen Al-Haidari, along with faculty deans and a number of dentists.

The university said the centre is part of efforts to improve the quality of medical education and align graduate skills with the needs of the healthcare sector. It provides a modern clinical training environment aimed at strengthening students’ practical competencies in applied medical fields.

Dr. Al-Nadhari praised the initiative and the centre’s facilities, particularly the dental clinics and therapeutic nutrition unit, stressing the importance of hands-on training in preparing qualified healthcare professionals.

Dr. Mansour Al-Kholidi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, said the centre represents a strategic step in advancing medical education, offering students opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and helping prepare graduates to meet labour market demands.

The facility includes specialised clinics in dentistry and therapeutic nutrition, equipped with modern dental chairs and advanced medical equipment to support clinical training in line with current standards.

The centre targets internship-level students in dentistry and therapeutic nutrition, including final-year trainees from within the university and other institutions. Its training programmes focus on practical and technical skills to prepare graduates for professional roles in healthcare.

Participants at the inauguration said such centres are key to supporting the local health sector, noting that investment in training medical personnel is essential to improving services and strengthening public confidence in healthcare and education institutions.
