The Therapeutic Nutrition Department at the university organized an intensive specialized training course on over-the-counter (OTC) medications and products, targeting students enrolled in the Internship Year Program. The initiative forms part of the department’s development strategy aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and field practice, enhancing students’ professional competence, and equipping them with the skills required to excel in diverse healthcare settings.

The two-day course was delivered by Mr. Ashraf Al-Zaghrouri and focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of the safe and effective use of OTC products, as well as highlighting the critical role of therapeutic nutrition specialists in related health education and awareness. The training also included the analysis of common case scenarios and discussions of best practices in health counseling and sound professional decision-making, ensuring the provision of comprehensive, evidence-based nutritional care.

These training activities aim to prepare graduates with a high level of readiness for entry into the labor market and clinical training environments by integrating theoretical foundations with hands-on application. The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to enhancing students’ health education skills and guiding them toward professionalism and competence in addressing a wide range of therapeutic and preventive healthcare needs.
