The Internship Program at the university’s Department of Dentistry on Saturday concluded an advanced training course in orthodontics that ran for more than a week, aiming to enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of dental interns in this specialty. The course was delivered by Dr. Farouk Al-Zhafri.
The final day featured a comprehensive review and intensive hands-on sessions, during which the instructor focused on integrating theoretical concepts with the practical skills covered throughout the course, helping consolidate participants’ applied understanding of orthodontic principles and techniques.
The program included advanced practical training, with participants performing a range of orthodontic procedures on simulation models presenting various occlusal cases. This approach provided interns with a learning environment closely aligned with real clinical practice.
Throughout the course, a daily case-sheet system was maintained for each trainee, allowing for structured, step-by-step performance evaluation. Continuous and immediate feedback was provided, contributing to measurable improvements in skills and overall performance during the training period.
At the conclusion of the course, participants undertook both written and practical examinations to assess their grasp of core scientific concepts and their proficiency in applying the orthodontic techniques acquired.
