Al-Janad University for Science and Technology has officially launched its postgraduate programs in a landmark academic ceremony held under the theme “Toward a Promising Research Future.” The event took place under the auspices of H.E. Prof. Khaled Al-Wasabi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical and Vocational Training, and Mr. Nabil Shamsan, Governor of Taiz.
In his opening address, Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, President of Al-Janad University, welcomed the guests, academic leaders, and researchers, announcing the start of registration for six master’s programs: Information Technology, Marketing Communication and Advertising, Sharia and Law, Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, and English Language and Translation.
Representing the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tuwaiji, Deputy Minister for the Research Sector, conveyed the Ministry’s congratulations to the university, noting that the launch of these programs marks a major milestone in strengthening higher education and academic research in Taiz Governorate.
Speaking on behalf of the local authority, Eng. Rashad Al-Akhali, Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, emphasized the importance of scientific research in driving national development and addressing community challenges. He commended Al-Janad University for its growing role in preparing highly qualified researchers and academics who contribute to national progress.
The ceremony also featured a scientific symposium titled “Postgraduate Studies: A Catalyst for Development and National Advancement.” The symposium included research presentations by several academics, among them Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Salam Al-Tuwaiji, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Aziz Al-Adimi, Director of Research and Development at the Taiz Governorate Office; Prof. Abdulraqeeb Al-Samawi, Member of the Academic Accreditation Council; and Prof. Abdul-Karim Hassan. The speakers discussed the vital role of postgraduate studies in promoting research excellence and building national capacities.
A multimedia presentation showcased the vision, mission, and objectives of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, along with highlights of its accredited programs. Informational brochures introducing the newly launched programs were also distributed to attendees.
The event drew wide participation from government officials, academics, and representatives of the private sector. Among the attendees were Mr. Abdul-Wasea Shaddad, Director of the Education Office; Mr. Nabil Jamil, Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Office; Mr. Fadhl Al-Shaibani, Director of the Civil Service Office; and Mr. Mohammed Al-Musani, Director of the Information Office, along with business and banking leaders, scholars, and university faculty members.
