Al-Janad University for Science and Technology continued its graduation celebrations for the fourth cohort on Tuesday with a ceremony honoring students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, specifically the Departments of Information Technology, Networks, and Cybersecurity. The event, held under the auspices of University President Prof. Mohyeddine Al-Qubati, was part of the wider “Winners” graduation series.
The celebration coincided with Yemen’s national commemoration of the September 26 Revolution, blending pride in academic achievement with patriotic spirit.
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Abdulraqib Ghalib, praised the graduates for their resilience and determination. “You are living proof that Yemeni youth are capable of achieving the extraordinary. Despite challenges and difficult circumstances, you have reached this milestone,” he said. He also emphasized the faculty’s ambition to establish itself as the leading engineering reference in the country through unique and innovative projects.
Dr. Ghalib highlighted the importance of the faculty’s disciplines in meeting the demands of both local and regional labor markets, urging graduates to continue developing their skills and to play an active role in the nation’s progress.
The event drew a large audience of academics, families, and students, and featured artistic performances, including a patriotic operetta and documentary videos capturing the cohort’s journey, reflecting the graduates’ sense of belonging and determination.
In a poignant tribute, the university honored the family of student Abdullah Al-Faqih, a member of the graduating class who was martyred last year. His mother was presented with a Shield of Loyalty in recognition of his sacrifice and to preserve his memory.
The ceremony concluded with the recognition of top-performing students, who received certificates of excellence and symbolic gifts, along with the honoring of all graduates from the IT, Networks, and Cybersecurity programs.
University leadership affirmed that this celebration represents a milestone for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and reflects Al-Janad University’s commitment to producing highly qualified graduates ready to contribute to building a modern Yemen. Graduation festivities will continue on Wednesday with the remaining departments of the faculty.
