The Department of Accounting and Finance at the College of Administrative and Human Sciences organized three graduation research defenses, attended by faculty members led by the Dean of the College, Dr. Gameel Zaid.
The first research project, titled “The Extent to Which University Accounting Education Meets the Demands of the Labor Market in Yemeni Private Universities,” was supervised by Dr. Moath Taher and examined by Dr. Adel Al-Zuaitry. The study highlighted the extent to which academic curricula and educational outcomes align with the requirements of the professional accounting field.
The second study, “The Impact of Tax Laws on Investment,” also supervised by Dr. Moath Taher and examined by Dr. Adel Al-Zuaitry, investigated the influence of current tax legislation on investor behavior and the broader investment environment in Yemen.
The third project, “The Impact of Exchange Rate Fluctuations on the Profitability of Yemeni Commercial Banks – A Case Study of Tadhamon Islamic Bank,” was supervised by Dr. Fadhl Abdulmughni and examined by Dr. Moath Taher. This research focused on the relationship between local currency volatility and banking performance, with a particular emphasis on profitability and financial stability.
The sessions were marked by constructive academic dialogue, with examiners providing valuable feedback and recommendations aimed at strengthening the quality of the studies and enhancing their practical relevance. Supervisors expressed their pride in the students’ commitment and research skills, noting the significance of their contributions to addressing pressing economic and financial issues in Yemen.
