Department of Nutrition Therapeutic Holds Three Open Project Defenses on Public Health Issues

    The Department of Clinical Nutrition at the Faculty of Medical Sciences organized three open project defenses focusing on contemporary public health issues relevant to the local community. The first study, “The Impact of Social Media on Healthy Eating Choices and Dietary Habits Among Al-Janad University Students, Taiz – Yemen,” was supervised by Mr. Haitham Taleb Al-Dubai and examined by Dr. Faten Hassan and Dr. Ayman Al-Qadsi. The second project, titled “A Cross-Sectional Study on the Prevalence of Smoking and BMI Differences Among Al-Janad University Students,” was supervised by Dr. Ayman Al-Qadsi and examined the link between health behaviors and body measurements. The final discussion addressed “The Impact of Hormonal Contraceptives on Iron Status Among Women in Taiz, Yemen,” supervised by Dr. Khaled Assaj with reviewers Mr. Haitham Al-Dubai and Dr. Mansour Al-Khalidi. The sessions attracted strong academic engagement and active participation from students, reflecting the department’s commitment to leveraging scientific research and methodological skills to address key public health and nutrition challenges in the local context.
